Part of the M62 in Greater Manchester has been closed after dozens of live chickens escaped from a lorry following a collision.
The lorry was carrying 6,000 chickens when it hit a safety barrier at 04:00 BST on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 12.
The escaped birds were quickly shepherded back into the truck.
A spokesman said the motorway is likely to remain closed 'throughout the morning peak travel period'.
Michael Clarke, from the Highways Agency, said recovery of the lorry had proved 'quite complicated'.
Diversions are in place around the exit for Birchwood and the Eccles Interchange with the M60.
