So far, Saturday night's headliner has still not been announced. It had been heavily rumoured that Prince had been booked for this slot, although festival organiser Emily Eavis denied this last month: "He's someone that will be amazing one day, he's somebody that we haven't had, and we would love to have him at Glastonbury. But no, no we haven't [booked him]."

Fleetwood Mac, Adele and Metallica have all been mooted in the press as possible Saturday night headliners.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2014 sold out in record time when they went on sale last October, with 120,000 tickets sold in 87 minutes, 13 minutes quicker than last year's record. Re-sale tickets for this year's festival are available from April 24.

Last year's event was headlined by The Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons and Arctic Monkeys.

The festival was granted a new 10-year licence, allowing for a capacity of up to 135,000 public tickets, by Mendip District Council last month, securing its future.
